The BFC Calls Upon London Designers To Create Charitable Face Masks

As you’re most probably aware by now, it is currently mandatory to wear a face-covering on public transport across England. Yes, we all may slowly but surely be making our way back to work, but it is vital we protect both ourselves and our fellow commuters. The British Fashion Council has launched a brilliant campaign with Bags of Ethics to create a range of sustainable, reusable non-medical face coverings. Priced at £15, customers will receive three face coverings which have been designed by six London-based design talents, including Halpern, Julien Macdonald, Liam Hodges, Mulberry, Raeburn and Rixo.

The BFC will donate all sale profits to three charitable organisations: NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Urgent Appeal, BFC Foundation Fashion Fund and Wings of Hope Children’s Charity. “Fashion is a unifying force and now, more than ever, it is essential that we collaborate and come together to support each other through difficult times,” explains Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the BFC. “Our ambition is to contribute to the fight against Covid-19, while protecting vital PPE supplies reserved for the NHS. Through this project, we will not only celebrate British designers but also champion sustainability in a time of crisis.”

The BFC Face Coverings are available to purchase through britishfashioncouncil.com and partnering retailers Sainsbury’s, Boots and ASOS.
