Since joining the luxury Maison as its artistic director back in 2018, Kris Van Assche had high hopes of stamping Berluti’s signature, hand-patinated Venezia leather with a fresh new patterned canvas. With the designer’s dreams finally becoming a reality, we introduce Signature – the first-ever pattern canvas printed with a Berluti seal. Isn’t she glorious?
Delving deep into Berluti’s archives, Van Assche crafted a pattern that morphs the brand’s new logo with Berluti’s synonymous Scritto motif – it’s all about adding a dash of contemporary flair to a classic. A whole range of Signature Canvas goodies seen in the brand’s AW20 collection will be released in April of this year, but to whet your appetite until then, Berluti has released the first edition to the collection; the Nino Canvas Clutch. Splashed in a slate grey hue inspired by the Parisian landscape, the patinated treatment ensures the pattern will not chip in any way. It comes with enough space to carry your laptop and all your other travel essentials, trimmed with a slice of brilliant buttery Berluti leather in that perfect shade of chocolate brown. The Signature canvas is set to cover a gaggle of goodies over the next upcoming months, including backpacks, briefcases and cross-body bags. Soon you’ll be able to coat your walls in the stuff!
