We will begin this by quoting a poem. A poem, that also, in this case, doubled as a press release. “If anyone asks you, how the perfect satisfaction, of all of our sexual wanting, will look, lift your face, and say, like this.” And what provides more sexual satisfaction than a truckload of sequins and a Bollywood theme? Especially when said theme comes complete with sitar player, snake and several thousand fairy lights? This was a love letter to India by way of London. At the heart, a play on ceremonial garb – richly embellished, voluminous skirts, trailing sheer veils, a take on the traditional Salwar Kameez in lemon yellow. But here, it was remixed with a jolt of disco – a glittering crop-top with matching flared trousers, sequinned slogan t-shirts, a cut-out jewel-encrusted body suit.
