It must be wonderful being an Ann Demeulemeester girl. We imagine it’s a bit like like that scene in Spice World, where Victoria “Posh Spice” Adams (now obvs Beckham) questions if she’s going to wear the little black Gucci dress, the little black Gucci dress, or the little black Gucci dress. Demeulemeester’s dresses aren’t especially little – but they’re sure black. Lots and lots are, near enough all in this offering, designed by Demeulemeester’s new(wish) heir Sebastien Meunier. Plenty of people don’t even clock that Ann has left the building, so perfectly does Meunier’s style synch with hers, and with the needs and loves of the label’s legions of loyal fans. Cool bikers, long trailing skirts, plenty of draped chiffon. And all black, all the time.
