For AW24, Aniye Records served sex on a stick. This took form in a 37-look collection entitled Dark-Date. Models sporting slicked-down hair and dark, smokey makeup stomped down the runway to riff-heavy track ‘Role Player’, embodying the synergetic blend of rock-chic and feminine beauty that the Italian brand is revered for. Hook and eye clasps were used to cinch in waists and prop-up busts, while slithering ribbons snaked up sheer tights and hung from raw-edged sleeves. With this collection in her closet, she’s sure to be dressed to the nines for her date with darkness.
Silhouettes were sultry but playful, featuring broad, pointy shoulders and deep, V necklines. Materials oscillated between dainty and tough, with the repeated use of red mesh and delicate lace adding an unmistakable romantic air. Spiked leather jackets and faux fur coats reminded onlookers that the Aniye Records woman is fierce and ferocious; you don’t want to mess with her. Elsewhere choker necklaces with tumbling, teardrop gems and chunky angel heart charms proved that less is not always more, and the occasional appearance of an oversized crucifix stirred a comparison to saints and sinners. Pointed-toe heels were sprayed with razor-sharp thorns that were primed and ready to defend against any unwanted personal-space intruders, and patent leather boots wrapped around thighs in a distinctly dominatrix-like way. Forgive us fashion gods, sinning can be good sometimes too.
