The first thing that came to mind when looking at the just-moments-ago released Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood AW17 campaign was the seminal Family Portrait by P!nk, taked from her 2001 opus, M!ssundaztood. Hear me out: soooo, here I am, having not listened to it in maybe eight years, and the lyrics “in our family portrait, we look pretty happy, let’s play pretend, let’s act like it comes naturally” come flooding back in some sort of sensory flashback. Obviously, the family in P!nks song is not really one we would like to be involved with, seems a bit dramz TBH, but the Westwood/Kronthaler family, now that is a family we would love to be adopted by. This campaign, snapped by Juergen, feels like the family portraits that line the staircase of a family home that friends admire when over for tea and are taking a toilet break. Made up of of course Ma and Pa (Viv and Andreas), and a mix ‘n’ match of models for us to call our brothers and sisters, once the adoption papers go through. I imagine our weekends would be filled with a peaceful marches for world peace all dressed in fabulous designs by papa Andreas. Dreamy!
