Adam Selman’s girls are the type of girls who, to borrow from one Cyndi Lauper, just want to have fun. Nothing wrong with that. And this season, they are doing so in a pyjama. There’s something quite louche and decadent about a pyjama as a daytime look, is there not? And we are very louche and decadent people. These ones came billowing down the catwalk, all mini boxer shorts and silky open-neck blouses, some that parachuted behind the models as they traipsed the catwalk.
Trousers that puddled at the ankle, robe-like shirting. Rest of the collection was girlish – intarsia checked knits, high-cut hemlines, a knicker. Some good denim, too, licked with floral prints at the hem. Ended on fantasy – silky slip dresses tinged with marabou or body-baring and beaded. Nothing says take me to bed like a marabou feather. Hell, you could even wear this stuff to bed if you were so inclined. That would be luxurious.
