D-rings and tyre soles and jack-wires and utilitarian stuff was all over the place at Acne Studios. It reminded us a bit of that CBBC show “Bits”, where they’d make, say, a chocolate factory from a load of old boxes and yoghurt pots. There was the same sense of wild ingenuity to this Acne winter show. Quilted linings of parkas were turned inside-out to become garments, shaped with press studs, alongside the oversized tweed coats they could have been pulled out of. And wire was made precious, in organic shapes that also hold out the necks of knits. Plenty of ingenious industry, behind everything.
