The City of Light and Love is a timeless destination where art, fashion, history and romance come alive at every corner. Tucked into its centre in 9th Arrondissement, M Social Hotel Paris Opéra blends historic elegance with contemporary flair in an artfully transformed Haussmann-era building that first opened in 1927 – a truly rare find.
My partner and I were fortunate enough to experience the extravagant La Grand Sweetie room and, honestly, need we say more? In a city where hotel rooms can sometimes feel like charming shoeboxes, La Grande Sweetie redefines luxury. This palatial space, adorned in a vibrant palette of jewel greens and just enough gold to make you feel très chic and definitely not kitsch. With separate living and sleeping areas, we were spoilt for space. The king-size bed practically begs for you to stay asleep in it, while the living area adds an extra layer of comfort with a plush sofa, dressing table and chaise longue – a must-have when in Paris.
The suite doesn’t just offer a good night’s sleep, it offers a full experience. We could easily envision ourselves, croissant in hand, spending our stay basking in the perfect Parisian light pouring through the windows whilst Édith Piaf‘s Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien hummed away in the background.

The true magic of the suite, however, was the view. Beyond the Parisian shutters was a picturesque landscape of the city’s Haussmann rooftops. Whether at sunrise or golden hour, the scene is pure Paris. For those seeking an alternative, quiet courtyard-facing rooms are also available, offering a serene contrast to the city’s hum.
Downstairs, M Social, continues to dazzle. The lobby captivates your attention with Art Deco at its core. Bar Le Douze, nestled beneath a stunning glass dome, is the perfect spot for sipping on sophisticated pre-dinner cocktails. Papillons & Co, the chic, in-house brasserie, delivers globally-inspired cuisine, ideal for fuelling a day of exploration. As for the breakfast? Utterly unbeatable.
Another timeless feature is the beautifully renovated 1927 lift, wrapped in brass and rich wood panelling, which carries you not just between floors but between eras.
To top it off, the hotel’s location is truly exceptional, placing you just a stone’s throw away from the Opéra Garnier, Musée du Louvre, Galeries Lafayette and a network of metro lines, making it perfect for both shopping sprees and cultural excursions. We were truly spoilt for choice when it came to dining, sightseeing and shopping. What more could we ask for?
So if you’re going to do Paris right, authentically and unforgettably, M Social Paris Opéra is the undeniable choice.
