When news hit Ten Towers back in May that the fabulous Oliver Rousteing of Balmain would be collaborating with cosmetics powerhouse L’Oréal Paris on a range of lippies, needless to say, we were excited. And today, we bring you the first look at the actual products we will be smearing on our mouths come September 1st. “The reason we did lipstick is because Balmain is all about expressing yourself. And women express themselves with their lips, with their mouths. I love personalities, strong girls that have something to say and aren’t scared,” said the French designer this morning.
Inspired by twelves muses/models/friends of Olivier (demonstrated in the lady super-filled picture above), the lipstick shades represent how he sees each girl. Having twelve shades, which there are, sometimes means the usual three nudes, four reds (etc etc) but Mr Rousteing’s lipsticks cover pretty much every shade under the sun – from the perfect red to pale pink, all the way to a vibrant royal blue, and pretty much all that comes in between. Call it ready for any occasion. And, at only £12.99 a pop we are probably gonna snatch up the whole lot. Here’s to hoping that this is just the beginning of a very fruitful relationship between the two Parisian power players.
