Footwear Finds: LV Drop 300

Pharrell Williams marries cutting-edge innovation with a retro athletic flair in Louis Vuitton’s newest men’s trainer. First seen at the AW26 menswear show, the LV Drop 300 arrives as an impressively lightweight shoe, weighing in at just over 300 grams. Featherlight footwear? Don’t mind if we do.

Sitting comfortably at the intersection of high fashion and sport, laps of fabric and a thick sole hark back to the golden age of fitness, with Williams’ citing “exercise videos and cereal box sports stars” as his primary inspo. Meanwhile, the shoes are crafted from a sophisticated yet practical edit of materials ranging from suede calf leather to water-resistant nylon and the house’s latest innovation, LV Silk Tech. Made up of 51 per cent silk and 49 per cent recycled nylon, Silk Tech serves up a smooth, weather-withstanding finish so that, come rain or shine, you can always look your best.

Coming in shades of ivory, coral and navy, as well as a signature Monogram brown and gold, the Drop 300’s thermoformed insole serves up formidable cushioning and shock absorption while small LV signatures decorate the upper and tongue. There’s also a considered Monogram flower detail on the heel. As for the rubber outsole? Well that’s where the ‘Drop’ comes from, with a wavy design indicative of a ripple effect across a liquid’s surface catalysed by a single drop.

Ideal for times spent both on and off the track, these kicks are certain to keep you light on your feet all day long. Ready, set, sprint!
