Villa M Offers A Relaxed Haven Away From Fashion Week Madness

Paris Fashion Week sits at the apex of fashion. This is where you come if you want to see the biggest global brands, starriest front row, best models and most creative collections. Nothing beats Paris but covering it takes total commitment from Team 10. 14 hour days of shows, appointments dinners and events are the norm. We’re lucky if there’s time for a croque Monsieur never mind a museum visits or an afternoon of leisurely shopping. There are so many things you can’t control during fashion week – the weather, the Paris traffic, sitting next to someone with full blown fashion flu – so the things you can control gather more importance. That’s why where you stay matters.

Thank God for Villa M, the Phillipe Starck-designed hotel in the 15th Arr. We stay at Villa M during fashion weeks and also when we are working on shoots in the city. Our work days are long and intense but Villa M feels like a haven. We love coming back to the hotel after a busy day. The rooms are modern, stylish, well-designed, clean and quiet. Ask for a high up floor with a veranda and views across Paris. The huge floor to ceiling windows let in an enormous amount of light and the living, green facade offers a pleasing burst of nature against the backdrop of the busy city. The best thing? The beds, with their crisp linens and soft pillows are a joy to sink into. When you’re working flat-out, a good night’s sleep feels like a big win. We have held meetings in the restaurant (the burger is excellent) had drinks on the roof deck and done conference calls in the business centre. One of these days we might even have time to use the gym. When you are super busy, you want everything else around you to run smoothly. At Villa M the service is seamless – tickets are delivered, room service arrives promptly. Details matter. This is a place where the staff remember you.
