Aaron Esh: Ready-To-Wear SS26

Aaron Esh whipped Saturday night into good shape with his elegant take on inner city cool, all to the best soundtrack of the season so far (Scouse rapper EsDeeKid into old Crystal Castles? Mega). Esh is particularly brilliant creating clothes with a lick of lived-in glamour. While he borrows techniques from 1930s couture and his tailoring has its sights on Savile Row, yet he designs for the everyday. His clothes feel more at home in basement clubs or Dalston boozers than snooty fashion happenings.

Working again with stylist Katy England, his troupe looked like off-duty indie kids. Out they came in cropped leather bombers with matching skinny trousers with access-all-areas passes plonked on the bum. There were suede military jackets and trench coats thrown over distressed skinny jeans, and glam bias-cut silk dresses that were played down with distressed baseball caps and slouchy boots. You can see these looks parading down Kingsland Road with a certain swagger, the way a great coat or that perfect cut to a jean can unleash a new attitude from within.
