Saltzman-Leibovitz Prize Celebrates Emerging Photography Talent
Famed American photographer Annie Leibovitz and philanthropist Lisa Saltzman are teaming up to launch the Saltzman-Leibovitz Photography Prize, an award designed to spotlight emerging photographers. The prize offers $20,000 in total, with $10,000 for first place, $5,000 for second, and smaller prizes for the remaining finalists. Six photographers from Ukraine, the USA, Nigeria, Romania, the Netherlands and France were shortlisted from Leibovitz’s mentorship program for the inaugural run, and a panel of art experts will select the winners, who will be announced in April. This new prize aims to support fresh talent and celebrate the power of visual storytelling. AB
Jacquemus is stepping into beauty
Jacquemus is making its first foray into beauty. The news broke mid last week that the French fashion brand will launch a beauty line in partnership with L’Oréal, which has acquired a minority stake in the French fashion house.
Speaking on the announcement, designer and founder Simon Porte Jacquemus said, “Fifteen years ago, I began dreaming of and creating Jacquemus, with perfume and beauty always part of my vision for the brand. Today, I am proud to continue shaping this dream with the leading beauty group, L’Oréal. I’m excited to see what the future holds for us.”
No specific timeline has been provided, however it’s been clarified that it will be a long-term partnership that is “further solidified by a minority investment.” Bella Koopman
