Jordanluca: Menswear AW25

They say to expect the unexpected at fashion week, but a catwalk that turned into a real-life wedding? This must be a first! Guests attending JordanLuca’s show this afternoon were unaware they were about to witness designers Jordan Bowen and Luca Marchetto tie the knot. The pair met 14 years ago in an East London toilet – Bowen coming from a lesbian sex party, Marchetto on a date with another guy (who Bowen had also been for a drink with a few weeks earlier). This was one of many heartwarming and funny stories of their time together, recited by an officiator before the pair lovingly said “I do”, the crowd breaking into joyous applause when they had their first kiss as husbands.

Alongside the fash pack, their nearest and dearest were all there to witness the nuptials, each walking in the brand’s AW25 catwalk that preceded the vows – including Bowen’s mum and Marchetto’s parents. They each donned JordanLuca signatures from bygone collections that were remixed. There wasn’t a three-piece suit in sight, as the troupe walked down the aisle in baggy stone-coloured jeans, boxy overcoats and tank tops threaded with wire to imagine an elevated silhouette at the shoulder. Forget a sensible kitten heel, models towered in sky-high platforms that were either littered with studs or sprouted with faux fur.

There was also an air of British classicism re-imagined here, as the newly weds worked with English and Scottish mills on standout duffle coats and wide-shouldered suit jackets, some adorned with a patchwork of the Joiners Arms, the beloved, now-shuttered gay bar where they first crossed paths at the urinals in 2010.

Massive congratulations to the new husbands, thank you for having us part of your special day!
