Nothing says spring like the promise florals and butterflies, and Dior knows it. Celebrating its founder Monsieur Dior and the spellbinding dresses he created using a printed butterfly fabric in 1951, the French luxury house made this motif a central aspect of its 2024 Cruise Collection. Under the direction of womenswear artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri, the print was reimagined by Italian visual artist Pietro Ruffo and given the title of ‘Butterfly Around the World’.
The print will now transverse into the fragrance world of Dior, with a limited edition collection of the iconic fragrance offering La Collection Privée being released later this month. Sporting four wondrous cases which showcases a colourway specific to each scent, the synergetic romance between butterfly and flower is explored in a delicate drawing.
The release revisits the four sweet and fresh scents that makeup La Collection Privée. The first, rose-chypre scent Gris Dior sports a case painted with muted colours and delicate shapes. Lucky, which centres the lily of the valley at its heart, wears an enchanting bouquet of sea green and white flowers. Sakura, a subtle fragrance that takes its name from a cherry blossom, recalls a subtle pink and orange colourway, whilse Jasmin Des Anges is presented with accents of orange and olive. The unique offering is set to be released in April 2024. Purchase here.
