Louis Vuitton’s New Pacific Chill Cologne Perfume Is A Detoxifying Summer Scent

Louis Vuitton has just released the newest addition to its roster of innovative colognes – entitled Pacific Chill – and it’s sure to be a summertime hit. Drawing on California’s distinctive health and wellbeing culture, the scent was crafted by the French house’s master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, marking his 5th cologne for the luxury brand.

Intended to create a vitalising, detox-like effect, the fragrance is fruity and floral, capturing the welcome warmth of a sunrise on the wearer’s skin. This new addition fits seamlessly into Louis Vuitton’s previously established catalogue of cologne perfumes, all of which draw on the scenic and sunlit beauty of America’s Pacific coast.

Born from a conversation with multimedia artist Alex Israel – with regard to one of Los Angeles’ illustrious vitamin-packed detox juices – Belletrud blends notes of blackcurrant, carrot and aromatic herbs to concoct the scent’s velvety, sweet aroma. Israel was subsequently called upon to design an illustration for the Parfum’s packaging, in which he opted to paint a fittingly lush and serene Californian landscape. Speaking on the design, the artist – who was aptly born and bred in LA – noted: “The green and blue gradient is resourced directly from the landscape which I associate most intuitively with the scent: it’s the green of the hillsides and the blue of the sea and sky along the Southern California Coast, in the morning. It’s where I love to hike.”

The campaign accompanying the release is fronted by the ultimate poster girl for LA-tinged wellness – Miranda Kerr – who, according to the maison, captures the “free-spirited allure of a healthy Californian lifestyle”.
