Khaite’s Cate Holstein, CFDA Women’s Wear Designer of the Year Award winner, cemented her industry standing with an elevated show held inside the brand’s first flagship store.
Dubbed Balance of Power, the collection explored elongated silhouettes and distinct layering. We could see what all the fuzz was about as a rectangular, padded shearling coat swooped down the catwalk with clinical confidence. Long, lean silhouettes fixed the tone, as models came in sculpted duster coats, flared suit trousers and languid tuxedos. Elsewhere, cropped bombers with squared shoulders walked alongside gothic ponchos and spaghetti strap tops which collided leather and deep green faux fur.
Amidst the endless micro trends consistently being strewn on TikTok, Khaite’s collections offer a much needed breather – keeping timeless staples anchored at the heart of her brand, and balancing softness with structure.
