Tom Ford designs for the spotlight. Closing out a stellar NYFW season with the sort of star-studded panache that could’ve dressed the entire Studio 54 dancefloor, Ford was at his best, doing what he does best: concocting a wardrobe that’s fit for the brightest names in Hollywood.
This season’s repertoire included teeny-weeny, sheer bras worn beneath glitzy blazers, shiny, belly-baring tracksuits, crinkly sports shorts and the sort of velvet hot pants you’d chuck on for a proper night out-out. Signature Ford suiting featured throughout, arriving in glittered leopard print and sugary pink variations, and came paired alongside underwear veiled by a curtain of black lace and satin shirts – a Ford favourite. Total glitz by the truck full.
A procession of sequinned evening gowns with matching XXL hoop earrings closed out proceedings. Despite rumours swirling that Ford could be selling his business, this industry veteran has no intention of blending into the shadows.
