Back in September, we teased the newest kicks courtesy of Laura and Deanna Fanning, the talented twins at the helm of Kiko Kostadinov Womenswear. The pair scanned in a cracking pair of high-tips dotted in various vivid hues and outlandish shapes. This excellent trainer turned out to be the Gessirit II, the latest collaboration between Kiko Kostadinov and Asics, which has finally been released. First debuted as part of the brand’s SS20 womenswear collection, the shoe draws directly from the Asics archive, borrowing elements of its strange structure from Asics’ Excourt II; a tennis shoe released back in 2003. The Gessirit II’s quilted pattern takes its inspiration from a constellation, with each of the Gel pod detailings resembling miniature planets in a Kostadinov solar system. The mismatched patterns and textures are what makes this trainer stand out. Aside from mesh and rubber accents, a particular stand-out element is the circles that form the base of the shoe. These are the sort of trainers you simply cannot take your eyes off.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Asics Gessirit II is available to purchase online now.
