What a better way to start NYFW than with Tom Ford. Sharp, sexy with a splash of sportiness, this AW19 collection was pure Tom Ford. First three looks that he sent out were identical but in different colour ways that all worked wonderfully because well, luxe works in all colours! Satin/silk trousers paired with a turtleneck worn under a silk shirt, accessorised with a scarf and a faux furry fedora-esque hat and of course, heels! Our girl Gigi Hadid in a delicious red velvet blazer worn with red silk trousers and deep red, almost burgundy turtle neck was one of the highlights of the collection.
The makeup on the women were just as divine. Smoky eyes, dewy skin and slick back hair – Tom Ford knows his woman and she is impeccable even when she is feeling more casual and sporty. The final dresses did not disappoint even though it felt more understated. Long gowns with heavy chain detailing, a white dress worn by Mica Argañaraz was a personal favourite and dresses in pinks, lilacs and peach were all stars. Model Anok Yai closed the show in a show stopping silver sequin gown had most of the FROW editors and guest all snapping away! Be prepared for these dresses to make appearances at the upcoming awards shows!
