There’s very little that hasn’t been said about Christopher Kane’s AW18 collection. To quote our own London Fashion Week report penned by Roxy Lola, “sex was the underlying element that powered this woman forward, taking complete control.” With illustrations from Chris Foss and Charles Raymond’s illustrations from The Joy of Sex and More Joy by Alex Comfort pinned to the moodboards, the clothes were fueled by the bold eroticism of both the visuals as and the narrative of the sex manual. The final look, a nude-coloured midi dress with marabou feather trimmings and a print of a woman in the state of ecstasy was one of those fashion moments that made it round the world and back. More Joy the print read, sending a message to whoever is looking. Actress, director and comedy genius Phoebe Waller Bridge even wore a gown version of the dress to this year’s Met Gala, making a true statement of the goddess she is. But unfortunately, we don’t all have a gala to go to. Perhaps, you just want to show your sexual ambitions during the Monday morning meeting? We hear you, and so does Mister Kane.
