Here Are The Nominees For The Fashion Awards 2018

British Fashion Awards_27

And so to the swanky screening room at Soho House where the British Fashion Council, chaired by the dynamic Stephanie Phair, revealed the nominees for this year’s fashion awards. The year’s biggest fashion news-makers are reflected in the nominations:

So Kim Jones, newly installed at Dior and Riccardo Tisci, who showed his debut Burberry collection in September will vie for British menswear designer of the year whilst in the women’s category, Clare Waight Keller, fresh from her Royal Wedding coup has strong competition from Victoria Beckham, who could round off her tenth anniversary in business with a triumph in this category.

Could Richard Quinn, who made front-page news around the world when The Queen attended his show scoop British Emerging Talent Womenswear gong? And will an estimated $6.3bn IPO be enough for Farfetch founder Jose Neves to swoop the business leader award?

Fashion’s man of the moment, Virgil Abloh features in three categories. His Off White label is nominated for Brand of the Year and features in the Urban Lux category and he will fight it out against Alessandro Michele, Clare Waight Keller, Kim Jones and Pierpaolo Piccioli for the biggest crown of the night; Designer of the Year.

The BFC also announced the NEW WAVE: Creatives initiative aimed at celebrating 100 of the most inspiring young creative talents from around the world.

With Alessandro Michele, Miuccia Prada, Demna Gvasalia and JW Anderson all up for multiple awards and Adut Akech, Adwoa Aboah, Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber and Winnie Harlow nominated for Model of the Year, the 2018 ceremony, promises to be fashion’s starriest night of the year.

The Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski will be held on December 10th at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Tickers are available to purchase online here.
