Since 2000 the trailblazing non-profit initiative Fashion East has been championing the crème de la crème of emerging designers. Everyone from Simone Rocha, Marques’Almeida, Roksanda Ilincic, Craig Green, Matty Bovan, Gareth Pugh and Charles Jeffrey, to name but a few, have Lulu Kennedy’s Brick Lane-based incubator and its menswear counterpart MAN to thank.
Every season a group of young designers, cherry picked by Lulu and her panel of illustrious industry insiders, are inducted into the Fashion East family to receive mentoring, financial support and the opportunity to showcase their collection in an on schedule show. This season saw the return of ASAI for his fourth season and Charlotte Knowles for her second with the initiative. Joining the ranks and completing the trio was newcomer and Central Saint Martins MA graduate Yuhan Wang, making her London Fashion Week debut.
