Berluti Release First Campaign Under Kris Van Assche

berluti_1Kris Van Assche is officially in the Berluti building and he’s got something good to show for it. After being announced as the new Artistic Director of the label in April, Van Assche announced he would show his first collection in January 2019 at Paris Men’s Fashion Week. So to hold us off from sneaking into the Berluti atelier, the House has released the first campaign under Van Assche’s artistic direction. Photographed by Jamie Hawksworth, it’s back to Berluti basics, the boys are shirtless in a new blank canvas kind of way. They each are swathed in the archive ‘Alessandro’ shoe, made in 1895 by Alessandro Berluti, the same year he established himself as a shoemaker. Way, way back and also showing Van Assche’s desire to nod to the archives. “For this first campaign, I wanted to create an image rooted in the maison’s origins and emboss it with my vision” Van Assche said. “See you in January.” Boom. Bossing up at Berluti.
