Farewell Judy Blame: A Tribute To A Legend

A heartbreaking loss this morning, with the news of the passing of the incredible Judy Blame. Designer, art director, stylist, all round creative genius, and more than that, the most inspiring, fun, and wonderful man. Judy was one of the key players in London’s club culture in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, with his fabulous jewellery creations, and club night with Scarlett Cannon ‘Cha Cha’s’. As well as creating his iconic jewellery, Blame also went on to style for magazines including i-D, The Face and Blitz, and worked with artists including Boy George, Culture Club, Iggy Pop and Neneh Cherry. In 2005 Judy worked with Rei Kawakubo on creating jewellery for Comme Des Garçons Homme Plus, and continued to collaborate with designers including both Marc Jacobs and Kim Jones at Louis Vuitton, Gareth Pugh and Jeremy Scott at Moschino. Most recently Judy had been working as Contributing Fashion Editor at GQ Style, continuing to share his uncontainable energy and creative vision to the very end. Judy, you were one in a million.

Here is the gorgeous man shot by Maria Ziegelböck for the Autumn/ Winter 2015 Issue of 10 Men wearing, of course, Judy Blame. Rest in peace Judy. So much love.
