A good idea is a good idea forever. Or, if you don’t subscribe to the musings of David Brent, just for one season. That season will be Fall 2018, in which Roberto Cavalli will dip their toe into the world of co-eds, joining the likes of Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Missoni, Jil Sander and Salvatore Ferragamo, who have already announced the fusion of their shows for the impending season. Cavalli will show both their men’s and women’s collections during their runway show in Milan this February, but you’ll have to make the most of it as the brand will return to showing separate men’s collections in Milan beginning with Spring 2019. This year’s joint collection will mark the menswear debut of British designer Paul Surridge, who joined the Florentine label as creative director in May 2017, and unveiled his first womenswear collection last September. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, so we’re obviously incredibly keen to see what Mr Surridge does with this exciting new format. Roll on February!
