Here at Ten Towers it’s no secret that we j’adore Dior, so much so that we think that our hearts actually stopped for a second upon hearing the news of the MAJOR, HUGE, GIGANTIC (you get the point) 70th Anniversary retrospective of the house that is coming to Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris. We are promised (read it and weep a little) over 300 couture dresses across a sprawling 32,000 square foot space, with work from every couturier who has been at the helm – from Mr Dior to Saint Laurent, Galliano to Simons and current designer Maria Grazia Chiuri. Entitled Christian Dior, Couturier du Rêve (Christian Dior, Dream Couturier en Anglais) it will be one of the biggest fashion retrospectives to date – with everything from shoes to handbags to artworks, culminating in a ballroom inspired by Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors decorated with the house’s most iconic gowns. The exhibition will open on July 5th during Couture Week and will run until January – more than enough time to find yourself a man/woman and plan a romantic trip to Paris.
