Congratulations to Monsieur Lagerfeld who has been announced as this year’s recipient of the esteemed WWD John B. Fairchild Award. Named after WWD’s founder, the award, now in its second year (the first recipient in 2016 was Ralph Lauren) celebrates “creative vision, performance and leadership in the fashion industry.” Can’t think of many designers who epitomise the above than Mr Lagerfeld. Karl will receive the award on October 24th, coinciding with a special conversation with Bridget Foley, WWD’s executive editor. We’re popping a bottle to celebrate. Diet Coke, natch. It’s Karl’s favourite.
