I can’t dance. I’ve been put off ever since someone told me that I “danced with my hips” which admittedly does sound a bit like a compliment but delivered in this way that suggested it was very much not. I’ve been para ever since. Exception is after consumption of seventeen large vodka tons and then I’m I think I’m bloody brilliant, an event likely this is likely to happen this evening as it’s the holidays (!) and thus I will believe that I can recreate some of the moves demonstrated in Gucci’s brand new Pre-Fall 2017 campaign. I won’t be able to. And will, likely, be hospitalised. Lensed by Glen Luchford, it’s called “Soul Scene”, Alessandro Michele inspired by the photographs of Malick Sibide, Northern Soul and the “Made You Look” exhibition at The Photographer’s Gallery last year. And it’s a statement! All the models and dancers are people of colour. Which we think is bloody brilliant. About time too. Not sure where, exactly, this was shot, but Richard thinks “it looks a bit like Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club”. Ze glamour!
