Story time: when I first moved to London, my first weekend here, I was waiting to buy a drink in a nightclub when a man with perhaps the most beautiful hair that I have ever seen turned around to me and asked: “where in this city can you dance to some damn hip hop?!” That man was Alexander Wang. Having lived in the city for approximately 48 hours I said “I’m not from here” and promptly sashayed away. And that was that. Not that this story has anything to do with anything, apart from the fact that Alexander Wang’s second drop for adidas Originals is coming and it looks pretty great. Like: I’m-considering-queuing-to-get-my-hands-on-the-navy-track-suit kind of great. This drop consists of a unisex collection of track suits, shorts and crop tops in black, indigo and maroon, all covered in the iconic three-strips. Think: Euro meets America. It’s all demonstrated in the above campaign images shot by Juergen Teller and styled by Karl Templer, featuring Wang gang staples Binx, Hanne Gaby, Lexi Boling et al roaming the streets of NYC and their dragging adidas Originals by Alexander Wang garms with them. And this time there’s an addition to the gang in the form of Madonna spawn, Rocco Richie. The collection is available in Adidas and Wang stores March 1st and online March 4th. Not to be missed. So much so that I’m actually typing this camped outside the store.
