Vivienne Westwood Hosts SWITCH! At Fabric Last Night

_MGL3679

Feeling sleep deprived and longing for a decent lie in after fashion week? Viv Westwood isn’t. She spent last night at Fabric, partying in the name of climate change. Thinking about those who were most relieved about Islington councils decision to re-open Fabric, the Dame might not have been first on my list. But that just goes to show how little I know. Because last night she hosted over 900 guests during the event aimed at promoting green energy alternatives. “There is only one truly political act you can make as an individual or a group – SWITCH to green energy. Stop the demand for burning fossil fuels and further fracking and make choices that stop climate change.” We hear you Viv, and what an appropriate time to remind us all of the dangers of fracking after it was announced yesterday that fracking was responsible for a number of earthquakes in Pennsylvania. Fun fact: we like to keep you up to date with the world’s seismic activity as well as all the latest fashion news here at Ten. The event followed last Septembers ‘Climate Revolution’ student night at The Box in Soho, and is a continuation of the designers ambition to subvert current energy policies. Yesterday evening’s soundtrack was supplied by UK acid house pioneer A Guy Called Gerald as well as other guest DJ’s, Jay King and Josh Ludlow. Getting one’s groove on in the name of green energy were the likes of Pamela Anderson, Gwendoline Christie, Ellie Goulding and Charli XCX? Fabulous.
