A Bananarama moment at Moncler Grenoble this afternoon. No skirts being whipped off here though, but large hooded capes swiftly doffed to reveal the outfits beneath. It was all part of Moncler’s AW17 extravaganza, a massive winter-themed ballroom erected in the middle of the Hammerstein Theatre and compered by Mr Derek Blasberg, giving us his best young Bruce Forsyth as he introduced Moncler’s different “houses”. Clothes themselves were, unsurprisingly, wintery. Ready for the slopes. So much so, that they are apparently tested on them. Think: chunky fairisle knitwears, coloured technical parkas, houndstooth jackets that cinched at the waist like vintage ski suits. Nice furry mittens. Shiny puff jackets. And all ended with a round of dancing. Lovely!
