Dominic is, and I quote, “fully gagged” by the above news. “More gagged than when Alyssa Edwards left Drag Race All Stars 2 for a second second time.” Translation: he was very surprised. Because, after a quarter of a century at the legendary title, Alexandra Shulman has announced that she will step down as Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue. “I have edited British Vogue for 25 years almost to the day, and to have steered it during our spectacular centenary has been one of the greatest privileges,” she said, via vogue.co.uk this morning. “It has been very hard to find a rational reason to leave what is unquestionably a fascinating and rewarding role but last autumn I realised that I very much wanted to experience a different life and look forward to a future separate to Vogue.” Obviously rabid speculation will now begin as to who helm the title after she leaves this summer, but for now the only word is that a successor will be announced in “due course”. Stay tuned.
