Coach House Opens On Regent Street

As the portion of the world known as the United States of America celebrates Thanksgiving by, from what I can glean from following our American cousins on Instagram, involves eating large amounts of poultry, arguing about the vaguely dubious origins of the holiday and consuming as much alcohol as human possibly to haul themselves through an afternoon en famille, we’re getting a slice of the pumpkin pie, as it were, thanks to the arrival of purveyors of luxury American fashion goods, Coach. Yes, as of today, they have opened a brand new flagship, the Coach House, on London’s Regent Street. Boasting 504 square foot crammed full of menswear, womenswear, accessories and various other goodies, having now seen inside, we are planning to spend from now until Christmas, and possibly a large portion of the new year, luxuriating within it. Designed by Creative Director Stuart Vevers alongside Studio Sofield and celebrating the brand’s 75th birthday this year, it harks back to their birthplace with a humungous glass wall that looks like a New York cityscape. You’ll also be able to find a conveyor belt filled with Coach things (very Generation Game), a Made to Order service, special Craftsmanship Bar and a curated selection of vintage bags from the archive. Wowza. Stuart Vevers said in a statement, “the location of these pinnacle stores was important to us, and just as New York’s Fifth Avenue is iconic, so is Regent Street. The time feels right to bring our most unique and curated store vision to London shoppers. Coach Houses will feature special installations and store concepts as well as specially commissioned interiors and art. I hope visitors will feel the store is a fitting addition to London and that it celebrates the beauty and creativity that this city is known and loved for.” Welcome neighbour!
