Have you ever worn a £3 million pound bra? Of course you bloody well haven’t. Because that honour is reserved not for us mere mortals but the lady supermodel anointed Angel of all Angels – AKA the wearer of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra. I mean, all the greats have done it. Tyra, Gisele, Adriana, Miranda. Ladies who need no introduction, let alone a surname. And who is the latest to join the list and be bestowed the highest of celestial duties? Jasmine Tookes. Yes, the American beauty will be wearing this year’s fantasy bra, the “Bright Night”, designed by jewellry wizard Eddie Borgo and brought to life by A.W. Mouzannar. “When they told me, I was so caught off guard, I thought I was just doing an interview, and Ed kind of sprung it on me,” said Tookes to vogue.com. “It’s such an honor for me to join a whole group of women who are icons, and who I grew up watching over the years.” Borgo said of the project, set into motion by who else but our very own Editrix-in-Chief and Victoria’s Secret Collection Creative Director, Sophia Neophitou, “it was important to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show collection team that the design represented some of the different iconography, shapes, and techniques that we use consistently within my namesake collection.” Which, in other words, means the most fabulous push up bra you have probably ever seen, complete with 9,000 precious gemstones set in more than 450 karats of 18K gold. And this year, it is the emerald that takes centre stage. “The color of a true emerald is inimitable,” said Mr Borgo. Obviously our levels of excitement for the show in Paris are now reaching levels that we never thought possible. We are positively gagging to see Tookes stomp down the runway in all her bejewelled glory. Congratulations Jasmine!
