Ever wanted to know what an Italian summer looks like? Well then look no further than Sara Battaglia’s glorious creations for SS17. This is Capri in it’s jet setting hey day. Bright and bursting with colour. Or to quote from the press release, “alternated, geometric colour. Chromatic contamination. Like in a kaleidoscope, where the colours create unexpected images”. Rainbow hued supple leather is fashion into classic shaped, from roomy totes to shapely buckets and adorned with wide fringes, geometric lines or laser cut applique florals. They speak, to quote again, of “energy, of style and of femininity”. The presentation also marked the launch of her first clothing collection, which also, rather fittingly echoed the bags, the laser cut leathers morphing into modish tunics worn over crisp shirting, tight accordion pleats echoing the geometric lines of the totes, a fit and flare silhouette that makes you want to get on the next flight to Capri, tout suite, and sip prosecco on a fancy yacht.
