3.1 Phillip Lim threw a party. Well, a party circa late 1950s Nashville. Or, as the theme told us, “midnight at the Victorian rodeo.” And so we arrived, the room lit blue with remnants of flowers and leaves scattered on the dance floor (catwalk). “Love, innocence and heartbreak,” we were told to expect. Well, we know all about that. Maybe not innocence. But love and heartbreak, yep, we’re pros. And that’s exactly what we got. Innocent Victorian romanticism meets elegant cowgirl with a hearty dose of attitude, played in by Patsy Cline’s ‘Walkin’ After Midnight’. There was the 3.1 Phillip Lim bomber jacket, ruffled satin cinched at the bottom, light and bouncy. Embellished bralettes accompanied what we can only describe as a “booty short”. Denim shirt dresses and knee length skirts gave us rodeo, and touches of snakeskin gave bite. She may be innocent but she’s feisty. Rides a mechanical bull well. Good times, great classic hits. We love a themed party. Until the next one…
