Loewe: AW16 Menswear

Magic mushrooms and over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders. Those were the big things going on at Loewe. The boulder-shoulder stuff was actually a gargantuan backpack borrowed from Great War soldiers, which sometimes came plastered with the fungi motif, hand painted. That was a technique that went on leather jackets too, giving proceedings a pinch of punk attitude, likewise heavy boots peppered with silver studs, and even Loewe elephant purses (shaped like one, not made from one) strung with chains. Elsewhere it was about texture (weird twizzler bits of foam cobbled into a net top, frayed tweeds, lots of shearling) and about great shapes, good fabrics, just generally brilliant clothes really.
