First it was J.W. on Grindr, now Diesel’s advertising on Pornhub. Have the fashion Gods been reading Ten Tower’s browsing history? Pornhub, for those of you not au fait with the dirtier side of the web, is “a pornographic video sharing website and the largest pornography site on the Internet.” A veritable Aladdin’s cave. Thanks Wikipedia. And the campaign itself (which will also be in the usual places, you know, like magazines and all that business) seems to be rooted in this digital domain – scantily clad young things accompanied by text message-style sayings such as “Whats yours is mine”, “Took it for you” and “It’s complicated”. Oo-er. But there are plenty of nice clothes too, bright knits, green army jackets – as well as an appearance from a not-naked Joe Jonas. Apparently, it “comments on our digital culture, its #slogans and the joyful absurdities of our online/offline behaviour.” In the words of the lovely Nicola Formichetti, Artistic Director, “our worlds, online and offline, are completely merged.” Here here.
