Burberry: AW16 Menswear

There was a cocktail we used to love called Veuve and Bourb – Veuve Cliquot (the establishment champers of choice) and Bourbon (a hardy, working-class sort of drink), all mixed up together. It often makes us think of Burberry, not because we may have had a tipple (or twelve) at lunch to celebrate the end of another stonking London Collections Men installment, but because clever Christopher Bailey also mixed up his Burb, with verve. This collection was a mash-up of the extraordinary with the everyday, sequinned tracksuits, under sweeping great coat, great bulging fox-furs, sweaters, bombers, flight-jackets, and lots of trainers – establishment meeting working-class, see. It was resolutely real, but still the sort of fantasy we’d love to live in.
