Another nice little something to adorn your coffee table in 2016 – the fifteenth instalment of legendary photographer Bruce Weber’s All-American series, “Leap of Faith”. Because, alongside the sexed-up images of muscle boys and making love-letter documentaries to his dog, Mr Weber has always been fascinated by American life, documenting his own work alongside other photographers in an annual photo journal. The subject of this one? Well people taking a risk – from sports coach Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski, who raised five pro-footballer sons to activist Angela Patton who organises a father-daughter weekend every year. “Over and over in life, we are called upon to summon our inner resolve and make a leap of faith—to draw from our most personal source of meaning and step bravely into the unknown,” the blurb tells us. “How individuals find the strength and courage to do so is the unifying theme of All-American XV: Leap of Faith.” A portrait of American life, enough to warm even the coldest of us Tenners’ hearts….
