Loewe’s sunglasses are both shaped like an eight (when turned on their side, of course) and have eight-sided frames – an octagon, for those of you who paid attention in Maths. So, what’s JW’s deal with the number eight? A happy hour spent cruising around the internet’s best numerology sites (try it – who knew?) led us to a some rather fitting conclusions. ‘The shape of the eight shows balance, but it also shows confidence, as it looks you right in the eye,’ one website told us. The ability to look one in the eye is certainly a must for a pair of sunglasses. Ooh, and what’s this? ‘A higher-than-average percentage of 8s find their way into the top echelons of society.’ That’s us sold then. So, forget the perfect 10 – it’s all about the perfect 8 – or, more specifically, a pair of 8s.
