The language of couture- was an apt description of this season’s gorgeous, wonderous offering from the super talented visionary Raf Simons for the house Jil Sander but the difference was that is was seen and dealt with through the eyes of a young person, grounded in the mens wear collection and couture detailing of wonderful finishing and attention to detail. Form, proportion, length and volume were all so bold and self assured. Gorgeous colour palette too of vivid magenta, electric blue, purple and toxic green yellow and orange gave an amazing graphic message. Totally wantable pieces that would exist forever in your wardrobe. The favourite look for me was the floor length striped gowns and the wide taffata trousers worn with a utilitarian simple white t-shirt giving the classism a real edge of modernity.
