FROM THE VAULT (SUMMER 2011)
A marching band of pastel sugared-almond fairies. As imagined by Elie Saab and rendered real by the talented Maida. A backstage conversation, entirely imagined of course, went thus: “I’d like the girls to look like bonbons. Pale and pink and smooth, with a delicate sprinkling of sugar. I want them to emanate vanilla and roses. Peaches and cream. They are to be as flawless as a sugared almond’s coating. Do these girls exist?” “Why, yes they do,” whispers the fairy godmother, and with a tap of her wand upon each head, the girls walk the runway.
