FROM THE VAULT (SUMMER 2011)
The fashion mob are well known for their light touch when it comes to spending money. Off they go, flitting from New York to London, Milan to Paris for a month brunching at Pastis, dining at Le Grand Colbert, drinking champagne by the crate load as if they hadn’t a care in the world or limited credit. When they return home the fear sets in on spying the bank statement on the doormat. So the faking of expenses begins. There is one writer/editor/queen, though, who is not fazed by such pettiness. She has been prepared for this moment all along. You see, whenever dining in a fine establishment, she makes sure not to leave without a receipt book or two stuffed in her bag.
