10 People To Meet: Margot Werts

Fashion, interior design and concept stylist

“I’m a firm believer in when you think you’ve arrived, you’re dead,” asserts Werts.

We like to imagine these words are being uttered quite bluntly from Werts’s perfectly lacquered lips, her eyes staring out fixedly from over her sunglasses. They are in fact arriving by email – iPad, if we’re going by the automated signature in her messages, pinging through late at night in London. Nevertheless, we’re convinced that flawlessly manicured hands are typing, imagining Werts poised with perfect posture on a chaise longue, or sitting at her dresser perhaps, contemplating each answer. Even digitally, conversing with Werts is a bewitching experience – a taste of old-school Los Angeles that leaves us wishing we were at least somewhere close to being so immaculately put together.
