Introducing 10 Magazine Issue 76 – Creativity, Change, Freedom – Read The Editor’s Letter

Introducing 10 Magazine Issue 76 – CREATIVITY, CHANGE, FREEDOM – out on newsstands March 18.

This issue celebrates the indelible creativity of artists and designers at the vanguard, who are pushing boundaries and inspiring others, across 585 pages and a dedicated 105-page watches and jewellery supplement. Here we celebrate individualism and champion fearless artistry, because now, more than ever, freedom and creativity are vital forces for navigating a world that feels like it is constantly upside down.

There are many ways to combat the dark forces, and inside the issue FKA twigs, Linder Sterling, Fumiko Imano and more show us the light, starting with our double-cover special spotlighting Louis Vuitton and the boundary-shifting work of Nicolas Ghesquière.

“This is a new chapter, a new page we are turning,” says Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of women’s collections, of his SS26 collection, one that seemed to break with his distinct sci-fi, time-travelling aesthetic and offer a startling new softness and intimacy.

In an exclusive interview, the design titan sits down with Claudia Croft to discuss his 12-year journey at the maison and unpacks his playful new Louis Vuitton look, unveiled at the Musée du Louvre in the newly renovated 17th-century summer apartments of Anne of Austria, Queen of France and mother of Louis XIV. “The idea of a certain comfort, intellectual, spiritual, mental, is important. I wanted the collection to reflect that.”

For this issue, the SS26 collection is photographed by Ferry Van Der Nat and styled by Sophia Neophitou where model Asako Sato wears standout era-hopping looks that take dressing for at home to exciting new realms.

Read Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou’s editor’s letter below:

We are entering a new dawn. With the world news populated by things beyond my comprehension – senseless wars, blindness to the abuse of young women and children by individuals who feel they are above the law, plus all the horrific information in the Epstein files coming to light daily, with no repercussions for any perpetrators – peak horror has been brought to my doomscrolling. It has left me angry, despondent and feeling helpless for the fate of the world.

Freedom and creativity, more than ever before, are vital forces for navigating a world that feels like it is constantly upside down. What we have tried to do in this issue is celebrate individualism and champion fearless artistry.

We have an exclusive interview by Claudia Croft with Nicolas Ghesquière, one of the most inspiring creatives in our industry. He has held his position at the helm of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear since 2013, where he constantly pushes the frontiers of design and his own creativity to produce collection after collection that is evocative and challenging, never predictable and always innovative.

The fearless FKA twigs is also in this issue. Since she emerged in 2012 she has trodden her own path. Twigs constantly pushes herself to be inventive and true to her journey, and it has only made her more relevant. Her recent Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album confirmed it.

I’m in awe of the 71-year-old artist Linder Sterling, who for 50 years has taken a radical approach to life and art. She has never wavered and, like many visionary creatives, has an innate wisdom that leaves you feeling she was right all along.

There are many ways to combat the dark forces. Take the artist Fumiko Imano. She is a total free spirit whose work brings optimism and joy. It’s a form of creative resistance. The issue highlights many others, but the overriding message is that being committed to your vision, facing the negatives, then conquering them and emerging, successful, are the only conversations worth having. Freedom, creativity and change are my watchwords for 2026.

The issue celebrates inspiring creatives who embody that spirit. We have chosen them all because their joint characteristics are to stand out and do it your own way.

What we have tried to do is platform those who lead with a sense of optimism, not aggression. Changemakers in fashion, art and culture who are defiant in their own unique outlooks and triumph in the face of adversity.

In dark times, their hopefulness and individualism shines bright. And 10 is a place of escape and a place to foster creativity, optimism and hope.

My hero, my glimmer of hope who managed to reach hundreds of millions during his half-time Super Bowl show, is Benito Martínez Ocasio, aka Bad Bunny. His performance was so much more than a standard piece of entertainment. It showed how coming together to celebrate our diverse cultures can enrich all of our lives. It also showed the importance of humanity, community and the power of choosing to spread love, not hate. It showed how music, art and creativity can bring real hope and light in the darkness.

The ultimate message, which broke through and lingered beyond the Super Bowl from my favourite person on the planet, Bad Bunny, was: THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE. Always find the light, find the beauty. It truly is the only way out of the darkness.
