10 Beauty Finds: November

BEAUTY FINDS IS TEN’S ONLINE SERIES WHERE BEAUTY AUTHORITY EDWINA INGS-CHAMBERS DISSECTS HER MUST-HAVE BEAUTY FINDS EACH MONTH.

Greetings, beauty pickers. Ready for the best of the November beauty charts, what’s in, what’s hot, what you need to know? Then here we go with the latest top 10…

Straight in at Number One is Sam McKnight with his The Big Set. This has to be one of most covetable hair kits ever and caters perfectly to the return of the ’90s big blow out – and it comes from one of the biggest (and kindest) names in hair history. A gold-coloured drying hood (simply attach the nozzle at the end of the tube to your hair dryer for some hands-free hair drying action with a dash of a retro look and feel of a hood dryer), it comes with 18 Velcro rollers in three sizes. We’ve seriously never wanted to do our own hair more. So channel your ‘big hair, don’t care’ vibes pronto – and keep in mind that you will care very much if you miss out on this number (it’s surely destined for many a Christmas stocking this year). Nab yours ASAP. Available to buy here.

A tight jostle for the top spot but Hermès lands in at Number Two, just pipped to the top spot. But what an offering they have with the arrival of a new collection of Trait d’Hermès lip pencils (16 shades), eye pencils (24 shades), and a water-resistant liquid Eyeliner (black only). The pencils are made from sustainable wood, the product is easy to use, glides on, and lasts well. And of course, they all look super stylish. But it’s the accessories that may have you swooning the most and the graphically designed pencil sharpener is going to be on many a most-wanted present list and is more of an object for display rather than simply languishing in a makeup bag. Available now to purchase here.

Number Three and some serious diva vibes with a timely fragrance launch which chimes perfectly with Angelina Jolie’s latest movie Maria. Yes, the opera legend Maria Callas has become a fragrance thanks to the team at the very delectable perfume brand The Merchant of Venice. And what an unapologetic, sexy, sensual fragrance she is, one that bursts into a room like a beautiful aria. With a medley of notes including mandarin, black pepper, rose accord and cedarwood you can probably get the idea. This is a fragrance legend in its own lifetime and comes housed in a handmade Murano glass bottle. Shop the fragrance here.

Number Four sees the Lucy Sparrow collaboration with Diptyque sitting in the top half of this month’s chart. I mean, let’s face it – we had you at Diptyque. But this creative partnership is a pretty special one and guaranteed to create some festive cheer. Sparrow is a felt fiend and has created some Christmas characters – a felt star, Christmas tree, stocking, and gingerbread man – all of which hold or are adorned with a Diptyque candle. And her designs also feature on the packaging for the festive collection. Also, by the by, if you’re heading to London, check out her festive felt delicatessen at the Diptyque Maison on Bond Street. It’s a real treat. Available to buy here

Number Five sees a return from top MUA and brand founder Lisa Eldridge into our top beauty picks, this time with her very elegant but refillable lipstick case housing a new lipstick, Rouge Experience. Let’s talk appearance first. The retro, grooved, gold case is tactile and has a luxurious weight to it and comes with all the style of old Hollywood – but you can play it again as you can refill and reuse it over and over again. As for the lipstick, it’s a lightweight cream formula available in eight shades – and you can add initials to your forever case. Grab yours here.

Number Six has us all able to turn our door knobs (or car rear-view mirrors, or hangers or… well you get the gist) into realms of home fragrance. Yes, thanks to Buly, the uber-chic French brand, we bring you The Scented Metal Box – though it looks less like a box and more like a church incense burner, but made of aluminium alloy, with a small, fine chain and holes on the sides to let the scent permeate its surroundings. Simply fill the box with your fragranced beads of choice, and hang it from your preferred spot. It feels like a well perfumed spiritual experience. Available to purchase here.

Number Seven and it’s our first skincare entry for November with none other than the much-revered Teresa Tarmey and her Anti + Serum. The latest launch from the super facialist is the result of customer demand for a serum as potent as the one in her bestselling Micro needling Kit but which could be used in a daily routine. The answer is this multiple peptide formula with a high concentration of antioxidants so that it works on multiple issues from supporting the skin’s resilience, treating hyperpigmentation, increasing elasticity, reducing redness, and evening skin tone. And all housed in a refillable container. Beauty editors are already obsessed. Grab yours here.

Number Eight – stay with us beauty pickers, we’re almost at the end of this month’s top ten beauty musts. And in at number eight is a super luxe hand treatment that us recalling Miranda’s SSB (Secret Single Behaviour) on Sex and The City. She liked to rub Vaseline on her hands and put them in the Borghese conditioning gloves while watching infomercials. Well, Miranda honey, you can upgrade now, thanks to Orveda’s new The Youth Glove Protocol Hand Care Trio. From the French biotech firm comes an Intensive Serum Hand Mask, a Filler Hand Cream (with UV protection) and a pair of silicon gloves (to wear while masking) intended for once a week intensive use (you can use the hand cream daily) and with impressive results on plumping, firmness and reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. As for what you watch while you’re hand-masking, well we’ll leave that up to you. Buy yours here

Number Nine and it’s & Other Stories with its affordable but excellent reformulated beauty range. It is now all vegan and the Liquid Blush is a new favourite: it’s well pigmented, offers buildable colour and feels premium. But the tools are also well worth highlighting: there are five new very swish brushes (powder, shaping, contouring, blending, and eye duo) with shiny red-tipped birchwood handles and red and black synthetic bristles. Available now here.

Number Ten may be our last entry this month but it’s by no means the least. Bid hello to the updated and upgraded Current Body Series 2 LED Light Therapy Mask. It was already a beauty expert fave for an at-home treatment (we all love a bit of in salon Dermalux too) but this one comes with more light bulbs, offers deep near deep and infrared light, and the mask shape has been rejigged so that it better suits every face shape (it’s made using poured liquid silicone). So, sit down, turn on, and just let the light do its skin boosting thing. Available now here.

And that’s it for this month beauty pickers. Tune in next time, for the latest beauty chart rundown.
