Reach for Invity SuperNAD Youth Activating Facial Sheet Mask (£59 for 5; shop here). Ok, it’s basically a tenner a go but if the party season is showing on your face then this mask is a gamechanger. Give it time to work: apply at night after cleansing, leave for 20 mins (or even an hour) so skin can really soak up the serum and then let it do the hard work while you sleep. Wake up to glowy, bright, fresh-looking skin. It’s like a little Christmas miracle.

Head to the Glossier pop-up on Regent Street which brings their cult ‘You’ fragrance to life with a fun and interactive experience until early January. It’s also where you can buy some of the best – and wonderfully bonkers – beauty branded merch we’ve seen in years including Glossier mini mics (£16) and, wait for it, even a giant Peugeot pepper mill collab (£95) – the link is, of course, the pink peppercorn notes in the perfume. You know you want it. Book now.

Light up your new favourite flame: a Control and Chaos natural wax candle housed in properly swanky jars. Offering a twist on the traditional, their alternative aromas focus on juxtaposing notes that would normally be opposites. So ‘Tryst + Forgiveness’, for instance, is a blend of mint and rose. All inspired by those creative junctions in life where messiness collides with the ideal to create a spark of opportunity. £55; shop here.

Tune in to Unknown Beauty, the documentary about Francois Nars and his inspirations and early career. Narrated by Charlotte Rampling and directed by Lisa Immordino Vreeland (also behind Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel) it’s loaded with clips form the golden era of classic Hollywood movies, imagery of the nouvelle vague, and behind the scenes video footage from his shoots in 1990s New York. It’s a veritable richness of creativity. To rent (£5.49) or buy (£10.99) on Apple TV, click here.

Don’t forget one of the best makeup launches this year: Shiseido Revitalessence Skin Glow Foundation (£49; shop here). Seriously, there isn’t a top MUA I’ve seen lately who hasn’t been raving about. Why? Because it’s packed with skincare benefits to aid a natural glow up, plus the medium-coverage looks and feels natural on and gives a really dewy finish. Available in 30 shades.

Try this tip from MUA Andrew Gallimore to give your makeup a Christmas twinkle: an easy way to apply glitter is to use an eye pencil infused with it so you can wear it as a line or sketch over the eyelid and smudge with your finger tip (which kinda releases the glitter more) so it’s more of an eyeshadow. Try Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Jewel Liner…the Gold Lamé shade is particularly sparkly!! £39; shop here.
